Any person that snores on a regular basis knows exactly how frustrating this problem can be. Snoring is an irritating issue that can interfere a great deal with the sleep of the person that snores. It is also an issue that can cause quite a disturbance to the spouse or partner of the person that snores.
While it doesn’t happen in every case, it is not uncommon for snoring problems to begin affecting a couple’s entire relationship. The sleep deprivation that frequently occurs due to snoring can cause tempers to flare, stress levels to rise higher, and both partners to become moody.
Not only can an added level of stress that is experienced on a regular basis end up causing a wide range of health problems, but so can snoring that is left untreated.
The decreased amount of oxygen in the blood that occurs because of the restricted airflow can result in a much higher risk of acquiring several serious health issues.
Some of the most common include the following:
- Stroke or heart attack
- Increased levels of blood pressure
- Mental Disorders
Snoring in and of itself can be a disturbing and distressing problem for a great many people. When you add the problem of sleep apnea to this however it can become even worse.
While snoring is generally caused by airway obstructions, illnesses or various other problems sleep apnea more often than not causes a person to actually stop breathing one or more times throughout the night.
This of course can cause many other serious health concerns and should be evaluated by a health care professional.
